Thank you all for supporting DVA through our 2015 Season. We are proud to announce our new season rightfully entitled MAGIC. We chose this title because we wanted to find a single word which encapsulates every moment during the upcoming DVA season…a young artist taking the stage for the very first time, an up and coming playwright seeing their work produced and performed by a professional cast, a budding director creating a masterpiece on stage then watching it come alive, and most importantly the single moment when every audience member gets caught up in the same emotional moment at the same time…MAGIC! This season we will continue our commitment to emerging and established writers, directors and actors. Since original musicals are what we do best, we also chose to close our season with a brand new piece that is sure to blow audiences away. We also continue our Black Box Series, Annual Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Event, and Annual Sheran Keyton & Friends Holiday Experience. DVA is committed to bringing culturally diverse musicals, comedies and dramas to the DFW area. Join us for the MAGIC!
DVA Productions, Inc. presents the DVA Young Artist Mentor Program. These students, ages 10-21, hail from communities throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. These students study (with Artistic Director and Professional Performing Artist Sheran Goodspeed) various disciplines of music, dance, acting and writing. They also learn life skills and service to their community through the Educational, Literacy and Homeless Outreach Programs. DVA Productions is a small nonprofit arts organization that prides itself on providing these services to the students who haven't the resources nor the knowledge of how to pursue careers in professional performance. It also provides excellent and much-needed leadership training. The youth performers bring a socially-conscious, yet fun and energetic message to every audience they touch!!
DVA Productions strives to produce original musicals and plays creating opportunity for local artists, playwrights, and directors to showcase their talents, with an emphasis on youth mentor programs and community outreach.
There are many factors of life with which members of the community must deal. Though they vary in degrees amongst different cultures, backgrounds and social classes; these factors and the need for open and creative dialog are common to each of the groups.
The programs address issues of interracial struggles and acceptance, inter-generational relationships, growth and progress in African American communities, strengthening communication between adults and youth, acceptance of people's differences, and many more. They also celebrate the joys and triumphs of the members of the community, and tell those stories through song and dance.
We must continue to progress! To do that, DVA Productions, Inc. needs your financial support! As a nonprofit organization donations are vital to our success. Your donation (of any amount) will directly impact the lives of students by giving DVA the resources needed to continue carrying out our mission and reaching our goal. Your donation is tax-deductible, and will be followed by a donation letter for your tax records. Your generosity and support is sincerely appreciated. Thank you for allowing DVA Productions, Inc. to continue to provide quality entertainment with a purpose.
